STEP Training and Learning provides interpreting and translation services throughout Northern Ireland, with currently 250 interpreters available across the region, our interpreting service covers 30 languages. Languages range from Russian to Tetum, Lithuanian to Polish.

All provision is co-ordinated and quality-controlled by the interpreting and translation team. All registered interpreters have undergone accredited training before acceptance onto the project. Most are recruited from the multi-lingual migrant population.

SInce 2004 STEP, initially as part of the NIMEITS partnership and subsequently through its social enterprise, We are offering a back- up service for Flex for the DEL and the SSA contract. We also provide interpreting services to some of Northern Ireland's best known businesses in an non-contractual capacity.

• Police

The Race Relations (NI) Order 1997 and The Northern Ireland Act 1998 cite that public bodies have a statutory duty to provide language support where required, and failure to comply would be open to challenge as “indirect discrimination”.

STL maintain a register of experienced translators qualified at degree level. We offer translations in over 30 languages from Bulgarian to Tetum, Russian to Creole. We also retain the services of one of the world's leading translation agencies as back up provision to our own service to ensure that we can meet your every translation need.
